Batterson Nuggets
February 16th, 2009 - Uncategorized - No Comments »Just finished Wild Goose Chase. Here are my 7 favorite lines from the book (I know you’ll enjoy):
1. You know why most of us never accomplish what we want? Because we don’t know what we want.
2. [The Holy Spirit] comforts the afflicted. But like a good counselor, He also afflicts the comfortable.
3. When God wants us to experience a change in perspective, He often does it via a change in scenery.
4. I can’t help but wonder if the heights of grace are attainable only after experiencing the depths of guilt.
5. In my experience, it is much easier to act like a Christian than it is to react like one.
6. So many people are prisoners to one or two or three experiences in their past.
7. I don’t think Martin Luther knew he was making history as he made history.
Oh, and one more doozy for good measure…
“I think vision is the cure for sin. One reason many of us get entangled in sin is because we don’t have enough God-ordained vision to keep us busy.”
