I saw a poster today advertising a Christian comedian. It was so embarrassing that I started to sweat a little. He was peeking around a corner with a “whu-oh” face and wearing what was certainly his wackiest tie. It made me a little sad. Why are so many things labeled “Christian” so sub-par? Christian t-shirts, Christian movies, Christian TV, Christian gum…

I love Jesus, and I think the things that represent him shouldn’t be lame.

The poster reminded me to renew my commitment to abstain from “Christian comedians” for the remainder of my life. Even if my friend Tripp becomes one (I heard a rumor he was thinking about it), I’m going to have to pass.
