10 in 10
March 10th, 2009 - Uncategorized - 5 Comments »Here are 10 things I’m willing to bet you haven’t thought of in 10 years:
Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. A TV series that (very) closely resembled Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I never missed an episode.
Sonic the Hedgehog. One of the best video games in any system, ever. Up there with Contra and Madden ’94.
Sixth Avenue Heartache by The Wallflowers. One of the most overplayed Star94 songs of all time.
Wall Ball. The greatest unofficial sport any little league ballpark has ever seen.
Knights of the Round Table Shirts. Sweet Polo knockoffs. I owned at least 12 of them.
Dave Justice. He was the Atlanta Braves in my book.
Netscape Navigator. My first web browser (and my worst).
Whitley Gilbert. She shared the spotlight with Dwayne Wayne right after The Cosby Show.
Jump 21. The original version; not the one your friend always wanted to play that involved defense.
Prodigy. I actually still know someone with a @prodigy.net email address.

i have thought of Jump 21…..but have you thought about 21 Jump Street staring Johnny Depp?
Jump 21…
OR
21 Jump Street?
Oh yeah.
1) I have not only played Sonic recently (2003) but co-share the world record for fastest time on Act I Scene I. I share this record with 3 other men – Philly Osborn, Rick Schoonmaker, and Adam Keyes. The record is 27 seconds. We all have visual proof.
2) I have listened to 6th Avenue Heartache within the past year…It came up during a “full IPOD shuffle” session and I did not skip it.
3) THIS YEAR I have seen 2 young boys playing wall ball. I thought of it then.
4) PS David Justice did steroids.
Great call on Netscape Navigator though
Madden ’94 and Sonic are among the greatest games of all time, but you left out Track and Field with the Power Pad for NES, in which everyone cheated to beat Cheetah in hurdles.
And David Justice did do steroids, so I thought of him last week.
What about adding Micro Machines to the debate?
