Remember Compact Discs?

In keeping with the musical theme of the day (and my nostalgia as of late), I want to tell you about my 13th birthday. It was magical, for one reason and one reason only. I got my first boom box and a Turtles coin, which enabled me to purchase my first three CDs.

What was your first CD?

*Incase you don’t know, those CDs are (from left to right) No Rain by Blind Melon, 3 Years 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of by Arrested Development, and Get a Grip by Aerosmith. Oh, and my first cassette tape? The Raw and the Cooked by Fine Young Cannibals.

I was trying to think and I really can’t remember what my first CD was that I bought. Being homeschooled we were “just a little” behind on new technology. I do remember so well though that the first cassette tape I bought with my own money was DC Talk’s Free At Last album. I remember because it resulted in a glorius summer of dancing and lip-synching in our garage.
