Social Saturday : Tim Bratley

April 11th, 2009 - Uncategorized - 7 Comments »

I’m breaking my own rules already. Social Saturday is meant to highlight my friends’ blogs, and yet Tim doesn’t even have one. I’ve been trying to make that happen. I think we would all benefit from hearing his thoughts on a regular basis, so leave a comment if you want him to start blogging (he always gives in to peer pressure).

In the meantime, I want to show you one of his more heroic moments. It’s from the middle of our picture slideshow (a slideshow that, because of Tim, is the best picture slideshow ever made). Wait until the 14 second mark…

If you’re interested, click here to see a poem Tim recited for Amy and I at the end of his (now legendary) wedding toast. Note: The first 10 seconds are dark for some reason.

i would love to see tim become a blogger. but more importantly, i’d love for tim to return phone calls.

A few more of the heroic things Tim has accomplished:

    1) Tim wrote a short story (22 pages) just to do it. I think Tim spent roughly 30 hours thinking of the perfect character names and 12 minutes thinking of the plot.
    2) Tim coached (with the aid of Kim Neff and Bill Stanton) our high school Mountain Park BoSox team to the league championship as well as coaching the Meerkats to 3 church softball league championships.
    3) Tim effectively pulled of the switch from full-blown cowboy in high school to uber-trendy guy in college.
    4) Tim is one of three people who has gotten engaged to his camp crush. The other 3,453,303,296 camp crushes in history ended with a quick text message once camp was over.
    5) Tim invented the self-Q&A email, which I have stolen and used in many emails to people at Furman. Needless to say, people at Furman think I’m really funny and have no idea who Tim is.

Yeah, I remember that night — hilarious. It was the night that we ate chicken fingers at the kid’s table…because we have a lot of kids.

Wow I forgot about that video. Yeah, I’d love to see a Tim blog. Even if it’s 1 entry a month.

Glad to see the Jim Carey picture…totally forgot about that.
