Guilty Pleasures
April 16th, 2009 - Uncategorized - 15 Comments »We all have them. You know, those things that we really like but don’t want anyone to know about. Well, it’s time I come clean. I just can’t carry these secrets around any longer. The weight of their concealment is more than I can bear.
Celebrity Apprentice – I started dabbling in this about two months ago. I never planned on it becoming an addiction, but before I knew it, I would go crazy if I didn’t get my Sunday night fix. There’s just something about famous people acting really childish and not famous that hypnotizes me. Oh, and [insert favorite Donald Trump hair joke here].
Mirror Side-Glances – I am either the vainest person on the planet, or the most normal. You know what I’m talking about (right?). You walk past a reflective store window a few times (whoops, I forgot something back there) or inspect the car that’s parked next to you, with the sole intention of making sure your physical appearance hasn’t faltered since the last time you checked. I like to keep it to a side-glance. I think it’s the full-on-glance that makes one vain.
Apple Store Roaming – I am (disturbingly) happy while merely standing inside an Apple Store. I’m not in the market to buy anything new. No, I just want to be surrounded by all the stuff. After I’m done examining the iPhone on display (the same iPhone I already have in my pocket, by the way), I usually just go get on the Internet, thinking that it will somehow be an awesomer version. It isn’t. It’s the exact same…but better.
Toxic by Britney Spears - If I’m riding in the car with you and this song comes on, don’t say anything important for the next few minutes. While I may be nodding my head at you every 30 seconds or so, it’s not because I’m agreeing with you. I am actually answering the question that I just asked myself in my head – Did this song get better since the last time I heard it? Yes. Yes it did.

a few days ago, i could’ve said world of warcraft was my guilty pleasure, but this feels like the right forum to announce that i am 4 days clean and going strong. thank you for your thoughts and prayers. i know i do not fight this battle alone.
After talking with my friend Kevin the other day, I also have an announcement. I get an absurd amount of pleasure from looking at the hits on my blog. Not just number of hits, but where they are referred from. I know it is egocentric, but there it is.
I just want to second that Toxic bit. As much as I try to hate Britney, that is one F.I.N.E. song!
Am I less of a man because I like to shop. I find myself in a trendy express store and think to myself, “Am I really in here looking at a $60 shirt?” Yes I am. I then make up for it and go into the gnc next to express and buy vitamin A, B, and P supplements (yea, gnc has every vitamin of the alphabet). And then I talk about my workouts im about to, but not always do with Mr. Bad A at the counter. So it all pretty much evens out, right?
Only 2 really pop in my head… groundhog breeding and bunion photography (yes, like on your foot) … i have been trying to cut back on both, but those critters are so darn cute. :)
oh yeah, and the Real World/Road Rules Challenges on MTV. Soooo addictive!

most any disney channel shows and/or movies. ESPECIALLY hannah montana.
the fray. i’ll listen to any album they put out beginning to end and sing along the whole time.
i would say something ridiculous and funny here like “illegal drugs”, but david just pulled that joke, so i’ll leave it alone.
