We’re On HGTV Tonight

NOTE: Have you read the post before this yet? I need some help. Scroll down or click here if you have a second.

There’s nothing quite like making a fool of yourself on national television. I try to avoid it if at all possible. There was this week back in January, though, where Amy and I let our guard down and attempted to remodel our bathroom all by ourselves…with cameras documenting our every mistake.

The show is called Renovation Realities. Unlike those other home improvement shows that provide professional carpenters, plumbers, designers, etc, all this show provides is a camera. You have to do all the work yourself (or, in my case, with the help of some friends after hitting rock bottom on Day 3).

Our show already aired on the DIY Network, but tonight it makes its debut on HGTV at 10:30pm.

Here is a preview of the show (if you look closely at the 20 second mark, you’ll see me hitting my thumb with a hammer…awesome).

I wish that I could say that I don’t watch HGTV on regular basis, seeing as I am a 19 year old guy, but I definitely caught the end of the show…

    Good work!

i’m torn between leaving a 1-sentence comment on the episode, or writing a 10,000 word breakdown with screenshots and pie charts. i guess i’ll just say this. the episode was very entertaining. I am the Un-Handyman, so i could never in a million years attempt what you attempted. And your beard line looked great on TV until the halfway point when you decided “I need to show America that i look sexy without the beard too” and you shaved it off. And my favorite part was when your wife said “freakin’” and I dont even know what she said it in reference too.

    bravo.

Caught the show the other night. Hilarious! Well, not your home repair troubles. But the editing, and your blank stares at the camera, etc. Your wife was funny, too. Especially at the store getting just those 30 tiles for the shower!

After all that mess, hope you are enjoying that new bathroom … Especially the vanity!

Freakin' would have been the nicest word coming from my mouth, but you two remained cool and calm, or at least that's what the editing suggested. That vanity ordeal! That phone conversation with the guy about the vanity! It's just not right, I tell you!

The results are beautiful and I really enjoyed your "cool dude" demeanor.
