TV Sidekick Hall of Fame

June 4th, 2009 - Uncategorized - 19 Comments »

There isn’t enough being done to celebrate sitcom sidekicks these days. That is why I have taken it upon myself to create the TV Sidekick Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees will receive a glove trophy that holds a baseball, a 15-pack of Juicy Fruit, Marble Madness, and a pair of cut-off jean shorts – all they have to do is contact me.

I have two sidekicks that I would like to nominate
    1. Dudley from “Different Strokes”. He was Arnold’s rock. We should all have a Dudley in our lives.
    2. Larry from “Three’s Company”. I should not have to explain this one. His greatness exceeds all descriptions.

  • ben

Paul Pfeiffer – The Wonder Years

B.J. Honeycutt and Trapper John McIntyre were two great sidekicks to Hawkeye Pierce on M*A*S*H.

I’ll have to go with Kramer and George from Seinfield… I can’t pick between the two though, both are equally important to the show. Kramer because he brought out Jerry’s normal side with his strangeness, and George because he brought out Jerry’s strangeness with his normalness.

  • Joey

Buddy Lembeck & Paul Pfeiffer are great choices. Being a formerly-huge (until I had kids) Simpsons fan, I’m going to have to go with Millhouse.

I would like to submit Azrael (Gargamel’s cat) from the Smurfs

  • Griffin Lifsey

    Al from quantum leap
Tc, rick, and higgins from magnum p.I.

Gunther from Friends. Anyone willing to put up with that hair for 10 seasons deserves an award of some sort… maybe just a box of hair dye will suffice?

  • Leigh

Ralph Mouth and Potsie of Happy Days fame . . .
But the sidekick of all time is Tattoo from Fantasy Island.
Am I too old to be reading this blog?

Definitely going with Kenny, Rudy's friend on the Cosby show. He had a longer run than Cockroach did.

And speaking of Cosby Show, how about Theo's friend who was played by Adam Sandler?
