Good Television is Back!

September 8th, 2009 - Weekly Six - 9 Comments »

If you’re a lover of television like I am, these next two weeks are huge. And since I’ve missed The Weekly Six the past few weeks, I thought it would be good to use that format to list the six shows I’m most excited about (and yes, I watch six shows…at least.*) Here they are in order of premiere date:

1. Glee – Wednesday, September 9

2. The Biggest Loser – Tuesday, September 15

3. Community – Thursday, September 17

4. The Office – Thursday, September 17

5. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – Thursday, September 17

6. House – Monday, September 21

Any other good shows coming out?

*Due to my upcoming career change, I’m now able to classify all of this TV watching as “research”, which helps me feel much better about myself.

I'm overseas right now and don't have TV. I miss my trashy TV fix. Even worse, since one of the units i'm studying here is sociology of popular culture i could legitimately write it off as research for once.

Community and The Office, yes. Glee, maybe. I will replace your House with Heroes; Sunny with the Mentalist; and Biggest Loser with Psych.

  • ALF

    Modern Family (ABC I think)

Biggest Loser??? Everything else is A+ material, but Biggest Loser… I don't know.
This fall's lineup is going to be the best I can remember. If 24 only started during the fall….
Fringe is coming back. I think that one's pretty good.
Summer shows to make up in case you missed: Mental on Fox, and Royal Pains on USA

I agree with Biggest Loser! Other than that, I don't watch too much tv. I do like House, too, though!

I heard that this season Bob and Jillian will be training the contestants together – no teams. Kind of weird, I think. What's Biggest Loser without teams? That's part of the excitement and competition to me!!
I do think they'll break into teams at some point, though. You know how BL is so full of twists. LOL

    Go Team Jillian!!

    Is it Sept. 15th yet?

Wow – quite a lineup indeed.
Glee looks funny and they are endorsing Great Clips (just got a pre-trip haircut)
Unfortunately, I will not be able to watch some of these premiers with the rest of America. I will be in Israel (aka the Holy Land). [With a sarcastic squint] It's kind've where Jesus lived.

    Really? How bout “Dark Blue”??

Glee? Seriously. the wife and I watched a bit of that on dvr a few nights back and just couldn't believe how bad it was. bad. like embarrassing for the actors… having to completely sell themselves as these broad caricatures behaving inconsistently. really bad.
