Who else should have made the list?
___

Tyler, I feel very justified right now. I have long said the Nard Dog is my favorite Office character and I always get.."Really?" So to see him not only make your list, but be number one, I feel like I am not alone. Thank you.
Also, I think Cameron is great too. Modern Family is by far my favorite of the new shows this season.
Michael Emerson from “Lost” should be in the top 3 & he’s not even on your list.
Buster Bluth from Arrested Development (Tony Hale)
Niles Crane (David Hyde Pierce)
I second that vote for Buster, along with Tobias!
(Great list BTW…we are totally digging Modern Family)
Cheers.
1.1 Tom Haverford

Dr. Cal Lightman

Prior Role Of Note: Pulp Fiction
Amazing show and actor. There is no one like him on TV.
If you're trying to stay with characters on current TV shows, I don't have much help for you. But if we're going all-time, good night:
1. Gob Bluth- Arrested Development
2. David Brent- The Office
3. George Costanza- Seinfeld
4. Uncle Joey- Full House
5. Mike Seaver- Growing Pains
6. Balky Bartokomus- Perfect Strangers
7. Bobby Budnick- Salute Your Shorts
8. "James" Carey- In Living Color
9. Corey Matthews- Boy Meets World
1. is this in order?
2. although it messed with the sitcom thing your list seemed to have, Hugh Laurie is worth being on any list of Top 10s when it comes to TV.
3. to Ev Daddy, there IS someone like Cal Lightman on TV. His name is Gregory House, and he dominates Lightman. The 2 themes from House MD are "maybe it's lupus," and "everybody lies"; hence, Lie To Me. And Tim Roth looks like he's made of clay.
Great list, I would add Will Arnett, even though it was a guest appearance, on 30 Rock partly as a tribute to Arrested Development, and partly because of his magnificent tone.
Also, Abed and Cam are the 2 best new characters of the fall.
Shawn Spencer from Psych and Elliot Stabler from Law and Order SVU
I'm with Amy on shawn spencer. He should have broken that top 10, and before I read the list, I had Ari Gold at my number one. hands down. His best scene, by far, is the speech he gives his wife in the second to last episode of season 6 convincing her to give him money to buy Terrance's company. I hope you know what I'm referring to.
Yeah, you've got to give it up for Shawn Spencer, but the problem is it's kind of like having JD from scrubs without Turk, part of putting Shawn on is that you have to put Gus on as well, which suddenly has taken 20% of your list.
I also have to second Mike Seaver and Balky
