5 Completely Unrelated Things

1. I signed a book deal!…with myself. That’s right. In the next month or so I’ll be releasing a self-published book entitled Everyday Absurdities (catchy subtitle yet to be determined). Basically, it’s going to be a tightened up hard copy of my best 71 or so blog posts from the past year that you can give to a friend or, better yet, put on the back of your toilet. More details to come.

2. I’m getting a new blog design on February 1. No longer will I have the same theme as every third blogger out there. My friend Mack is redesigning it, so if you like it, hit him up for some business.

3. Not sure if you’ve noticed, but TV is back. New House last night, new Biggest Loser tonight, new Modern Family Wednesday, new Community (with Jack Black) and two new 30 Rocks on Thursday. New season of 24 next week, and the new/last/best season of Lost on February 2. Life is good…when you’re sitting in front of a television.

4. My friend Bryan Allain has a new eBook that he is launching tomorrow. He calls it his 2009 Yearbook, but I call it “20 pages of unbridled hilarity”. It will be a free download for the month of January, so head on over to his site tomorrow and check it out.

5. I’m going to begin selling sponsor/ad space on my blog at the beginning of February. I’ll have more details to come, but if you or someone you know is interested, email me. Between this and the book thing, is it really obvious that someone is now self-employed and trying to earn some cash?

Just out of curiosity, is the book something you’d consider buying? Mom, I know you will.

I'll buy one for each person in man club. Depending on the price of course and if you're paying for the cheese dip next time.

I'd buy your book if it was resonably priced…or if I read books. Even still, I might buy it. Especially if you give it a shout out to the Louses or include the story of the blind squirrel that found a nut.

what is reasonably priced? $79.99? i hear that's the going rate these days.

i would rather you give me a free signed copy so I feel like a real insider, and then I will make a totally unrelated $15 donation to the Stanton family later.

I would also like to inquire about the add space? How much would it cost to put a larger picture of my face next to yours? Will you accept payments in diaper form or would you rather it be actual currency before converting it to diapers?

I'm fine with whatever form of payment, as long as it's not Mike's Hard Apple Cider again. I poured all the ones you left at my house down the drain yesterday.

    1. If you're looking for some extra cash the Liberty Tax street troupe is back in action. I had to awkwardly sit at a red light while a guy dressed as the statue of liberty waved at me. Looks like this year they have big foam heads. Profitable and good acting practice

    2. I prefer a book about TV, personally.

I would buy it because i think you are ha-larious.

  • Mom

Boy, you have been busy – know wonder you never answer your phone or return phone calls. Oh well, it's been more fun talking to Amy anyway!

For what it's worth, I would definitely buy your book. And since I'm a freshman in college trying to complete my "cool, hipster" image, this random book about witty blog posts will totally impress all of my new college friends. Then they will all buy your book so that we could all be cool, independent college students with the exact same book, therefore making us all exactly the same. Two thumbs up for conformity.
