Arbitrary Thoughts
September 16th, 2010 - Uncategorized - 5 Comments »+ I was a proud Reebok Pump owner/wearer in the late 80s. It just hit me this morning though (during my daily meditation about Reebok products) – why would anyone ever want them pumped to a less than maximum amount? Was there ever a time when people preferred “medium comfort”?
+ Fall TV is back, which increases our quality of life by at least eight or nine measurements. Parenthood already knocked it out of the park on Tuesday, Sunny starts tonight, and the floodgates open next week. As is tradition this time of year, expect a detailed post about it next week.
+ Yesterday someone generously donated $1600 to our 30 Bloggers, 30 Days, $30,000 project, bringing our total to $8,840 at the halfway point! I’d love for you to consider giving, but if you need a little more incentive, a bunch of people are doing unique things to raise money:
- I’m donating 100% of my book sales during the month of September to our charity: water project, so if you don’t have one, this is the best time to get one.
- Wes Molebash is auctioning off some artwork that he created for Jon Acuff over at Stuff Christians Like. Click here to check it out or make a bid.
- Starbox is donating $30 from the sale of every one of their WordPress themes during the month of September (and they’re really good themes…which helps). Click here to check them out.
- Evan Forester is holding a photo contest this month where the winner gets a $20 iTunes card and $100 donated in his/her name to our charity: water project.
- Rachel Held Evans, author of Evolving in Monkey Town, is auctioning off an annotated copy of her book where she puts a lot of notes and personal touches in the margins. As soon as I get the link, I’ll post it here.
+ I was recently interviewed for a couple different podcasts – Bryan Allain’s The Fresh Pod and The 8Bit Network Podcast. Both podcasts are great, but expect complete mediocrity out of yours truly. I’ll let you know when they’re up.
+ I lot of you have been sending me ideas for The Weekly Six. Keep those coming. I’ll make sure you get the credit you deserve.
+ Last night Tripp tweeted that he looked in the rearview mirror and realized he was wearing two hats. Two. I didn’t even think this mistake was possible, like accidentally putting on an extra pair of shoes or driving a motorcycle when you don’t own one. Well done, sir.
+ Tripp and I are in the middle of what might be my favorite project we’ve ever done. I can’t wait for you to see it.
+ Derek Jeter was not cheating. He was playing baseball.
