Arbitrary Thoughts

+ Bryan Allain and Kevin Keigley are coming into Atlanta tonight so we can all head up to Nashville together for Dream Year Weekend. Pretty excited about this. They better become best friends.

+ Guest posting month is lined up. I’ll be emailing everyone in the next day or so. Really looking forward to this…I think.

+ Grey’s Anatomy fans: IMDB tells me that Season 4′s old man intern, Norman, is NOT Wilson from Home Improvement. I refuse to believe this.

+ I wrote this post before most of you ever knew about my blog. It contains vitally important information about my family.

+ The comments on yesterday’s Write My Bio post are amazing. It’s going to be really hard to choose. Maybe I’ll write a full bio for my About page out of them. It’s due for an update anyway.

+ I want to start writing more posts like the Cancel Cable posts I wrote earlier in the week. I know that you come here for humor and triviality, though, so I’ll probably just start posting them over the weekend or something, as to not interrupt the flow.

+ Can’t get enough of this version of Laundry Room.

+ Speaking of Dream Year Weekend, I’ll hopefully have landed on one overarching thing I want to accomplish in 2011 by the time it’s over. So, my question for you:

What is one thing you want to accomplish in 2011? Trivial or important…doesn’t matter.

Norman is the grandpa from Gilmore Girls. Duh.
I really like arbitrary thoughts posts. And now I feel really vulnerable for saying that.

Would love to read a post on your take-sways from the Dream Year weekend next week…

Re: Norman being Wilson from Home Improvement. The guy who played Wilson died in 2003, so unless ABC is pulling some Tron-style computer graphics, it's not the same guy. They do look quite a bit alike, though. At least from the nose up…

In 2011 I'm hoping to accomplish the gargantuan feat of starting and not-quitting graduate school.

How can anyone not love that version Laundry Room from the Avett Brothers?
How can anyone not love the Avett Brothers?

I feel as if the internets is in for a flurry like none other of tweets and updates from the combination of you and Bryan and Kevin in one vehicle together for many hours. You might as well know, we all expect non-stop hilarity.

In 2011 I want to produce a TV show called "Making Friends", in which a sad looking guy teaches us how to make puppets.

You think your blog has "a flow" that could be interrupted?

2011 goal- quit my job and join the circus. Ok, that’s not entirely true, I’ll let you figure out which one is false.

Norman is the grandfather on Gilmore Girls.

Trivial: I want to learn how to whistle loudly.
Important: I want to help raise enough money to build a well in Kenya.

in 2011 i want to (just one time) incidentally walk on a sidewalk and not step on any crack.. without lengthening or shortening my strides.. simply with my normal walking stride.. just to get lucky enough to be taking the perfect steps, on the perfect sidewalk

    In 2011 I want to:
do my best at planning two mission trips for the first time in my life
do my best at being on a worship team for the first time in my life
do my best at writing a book for the first time in my life

All of which I am scared about but excited all at the same time!!

Like the comment above, not quitting grad school is a big goal. Also, to get through a Starbucks Trenta in one sitting.

I live in Nashville and read all of your blogs and am pretty sure that if I ran into you at Starbucks, I would stop and be like "hey what's up guys?" and totally creep yall out. I can see it now… "It's ME! Lauren! From your blog's comments! No?" Hahahaha but luckily for you, I'm headed to Birmingham this afternoon and we don't have to worry about such an awkward run-in.

Love that version. Thanks for sharing.

This year I am going to be living without any roommates for the first time in my 28 years. I want to be completely comfortable with that idea and making the most of the time by journaling, writing, or creating something… instead of just watching TV now that I'll have more space on my DVR.
