+ I just installed a Top Commenters widget in my sidebar. We’re currently working on its ugliness, but the functionality is still there. 3 reasons I like it (and think you will too):

1) It’s the top weekly commenters so everyone has a chance for exposure (although I’m thinking about changing it to monthly since I only post about 4x a week)
2) Your name is a link to your site. Free advertising for you!
3) It gets you, the readers, more familiar with one another and encourages community

Just make sure you sign in the same way every time you leave a comment.

+ Finished The Wire this past week. I can’t even wrap my mind around it. It’s such a good show.

+ I’m halfway through proofreading Bryan Allain’s BlogRocket workbook. This thing is incredible. I’m not just saying this because he’s a friend – if you have a blog or are thinking about starting one, you need this. I wish I had it two years ago when I started. If you’re on the fence, at least sign up for the mailing list and get a chance to win a $109 Amazon gift card.

+ A couple of my brother’s friends are producing a TV pilot up in DC. It’s going to document the stories of the men and women who brew, grow, roast and cook the artisan foods of North America. Check out their Kickstarter page, watch their video, and see if it’s something you’d be interested in being a part of.

+ One $25 advertising spot just opened up for May. First come, first serve. Email me.

+ Michael Scott’s last episode tonight. I teared up last week when they did the song in the conference room. I fear tonight will be much worse.

+ Current Power Song: All of the Lights by Kanye West. Dang it’s good. Currently $0.69 on Amazon.

+ Today I’m giving away a copy of The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. It’s not a comedy, but it’s one of the most important books I’ve ever read. Just answer the question below and I’ll pick a winner at random.

Who is your favorite TV Dad of all-time?

Between you and me, a little piece of me died when Michael Scott walked through those gates. The same feeling I had when I was a kid and they stopped showing He-Man on TV
