Arbitrary Thoughts

+ The comments on Chad Gibbs’ DBTG: College Football Fan post the other day were hilarious. Well done. The 5 winners of Chad’s book are Kristi the Alabama fan, Dresch, Maury D. Gaston, Clint M., and Tor Constantino. Email Chad (emailchadgibbs at gmail dot com) your address and he’ll send the goods your way.

+ The other day I watched this documentary. Then I went out and bought this. Then I started making these. I’m now officially part of the juicing cult. (Btw, the documentary is currently on Netflix Instant Stream if you’re interested).

+ I took Baylor to his first Braves game Tuesday night. This truly is one of the best moments in a dad’s life.

+ Remember the epic putt-putt battle Tripp and I had last month? Not sure if I told you, but the stakes were really high – the loser would have to get a custom iPhone case made with a picture of himself shirtless and flexing (a la this) and use it for an entire month. Well, Tripp lost. The photo has been taken and the case has been ordered. Now we wait…

+ I bought a Time Capsule last week. Revolutionary.

+ If you’ve got an extra hour on your hands, watch this interview/conversation between Tim Ferriss and Chase Jarvis. As always, Ferriss was spitting golden nuggets of wisdom.

+ I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by the Fall TV lineup. So many great shows returning, as well as a slew (yes slew) of new content that I must partake in.

And you? What does your Fall TV lineup look like? I’ll go first in the comments.

Baylor's first Braves game?!!? You're a good man.

  • Tyler Stanton

Continue on with Curb, Entourage, and Breaking Bad…

    Add:
    Sons of Anarchy
    Dexter
    Grey's Anatomy
    Thursday NBC
    Happy Endings
    Modern Family
    New Arnett/Applegate show
    Football

Biggest Loser is most likely out. I can't tolerate the Kournikova-as-trainer decision.

  • yousaidso

new girl. that rules everything. I already quote it, and i have yet to see a single episode. i am quoting the promos. THE PROMOS.
(PS- i started awkwardly calling guys "sailor" wayyyy before this show came out)

Thanks for picking me to win Chad Gibb's book. Looking forward to reading it.

  • http://www.joerob.com Joseph

    Castle
    Glee
    Parenthood
    Happy Endings
    Bones
    Parks & Recreation
    The Office
30 Rock (though I'm slightly nervous because I can't find it on TV Guide's fall lineup page…)

If they ever start airing new episodes again, I also like the SyFy shows Eureka, Sanctuary, and Warehouse 13.

    And sports.

    • Tyler Stanton

Whoops. Forgot about parenthood. Sooooo good.

    • becki

30 Rock isn't coming back until January to accomodate Tina Fey's maternity leave

  • Josh

Continue on with True Blood, Entourage, Breaking Bad, Burn Notice and Wilfred…

    Add:
    Notre Dame Football
    Sons of Anarchy
Up All Night (New Arnett/Applegate show )
    Raising Hope
    Modern Family
    Community
    Parks and Recreation
    The Office
Person of Interest (New J.J. Abrams show)
    Dexter
    The League
    The Walking Dead

Wow, that's embarrassing. I need to get a life.

Tyler Stanton, I DARE YOU to go over to The GBOAT right now and try to prove that you have friends. I DARE YOU.

    • Tyler Stanton

Beat you to it. Already read it. Excellent.

      • http://www.mandiemariebee.wordpress.com Mandie_Marie

I don't think it worked, Craven.

        • http://thegboat.net/ The Joseph Craven

Apparently not. But can't say we didn't see it coming.

          • Tyler Stanton

Oh, I see now. I thought you meant the post. Didn't know there was a battle going on for Knox's friendship. Question for both of you – do you and Knox email back and forth about The Wire? Trump card.

          • http://thegboat.net/ The Joseph Craven

            Two things:

            1. No. We don't email back and forth about a show that ended nearly four years ago. Even though The Wire was AMAZING.

            2. Arguments here aren't valid. Not even what I just said actually counts towards anything.

New Girl seems fantastic. And Playboy Club. I KEED.

I just want to say, the shirtless phone cover pose should be the new standard bet. Forget buying a beer or plate of wings or whatever. Loser poses shirtless for his own phone cover is the new hotness. Thanks to you, Tyler. Thanks to you.

Continue with Community, Glee, and possibly Biggest Loser. I agree with you on the Kournikova addition; for a show that still has a big following, it seems a bit early for a season-stretching gimmick. Not sure if I'll watch or not.

  • stephaniekandray.com

we watched that documentary too. my husband now juices every morning for breakfast. my excuse for not joining in with him is that i've got a baby due next month and need more calories. both lame and false, i know.

  • http://www.thecjadams.com C.J. Adams

The Ferris/Jarvis video is awesome. Love both of those guys.

As for my Fall TV lineup, I don't have one….does that make me weird? Probably….

  • http://beckeye.blogspot.com Becki

my list is sort of long… it's embarrassing.

    Parenthood
    How I Met Your Mother
    Glee
    Modern Family
    NBC Thursday night
    Big Bang Theory
    Grey's Anatomy
    Fringe
    Desparate Housewives
    The Good Wife
might add Up All Night… can't decide if I can make a committment to something new

May I recommend this calendar: http://www.tvguide.com/special/fall-preview/calen… for anyone who wants to schedule when things come back (maybe not necessary if you have a dvr, but I just moved and have to reprogram the whole darn thing).

  • http://thomasmarkzuniga.com TMZ

The Office, Parks & Rec, and Community round out my favorite comedies. Go NBC Thursday. They know how to do one night right at least.

Big reality buff, so Survivor & Amazing Race are always on my radar.

Seen sweet promos for these two new fairy tale shows and this sci-fi / epic thing called Terra Nova. May have to check those out and see how it feels.

In other words, way too much TV.

  • http://abbynickle.wordpress.com/ abby nicole

    Modern Family
NBC Thursday night…especially Parks & Rec (Good thing I didn't give up after season 1)
    Chuck
    Bones
    Parenthood
    Grey's
    Entourage
    Up All Night
Arrested Development (some days, I like to pretend it's still on the air. okay, most days.)
Finish watching The Wire and catch up on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Watch season 4 of the IT Crowd

  • BCJ

    Modern Family
    Desperate Housewives
    The Office
    The Glades
Rizolli and Isles (not really Fall)
    The Closer (not really Fall)

Friday Night Lights is over, therefore I am retiring from television.

  • http://830eyes.wordpress.com Katie

I think I may have most people beat – I had to map mine out… http://wp.me/pfkpr-qd

In all fairness though the original chart is for work – I just added my own highlights.

    • Kathie

Oh my gosh, I just printed this out for my husband. He's going to love it!

  • Kathie

Way too many TV shows, plus hubby loves the whole X-Factor, Dancing with the Stars, big time sucks. He actually said this morning, "We need to seriously sit down and plan our Fall TV viewing so I can program the DVR. Seriously. I don't want to miss this stuff." Oy.

Having just moved to an incredibly small town, and not wanting to pay $60 / month for basic cable, we'll be watching all our fav shows (esp 30 Rock) by Hulu. Please do not be the spoiler.
