What a Week

Last week…

+ We had a baby on Wednesday. Say hello to Jude.

+ Catalyst happened. Here are some great photos from the week.

+ I hugged Dave Ramsey, which was a bucket list item (right between small talking with Tim Ferriss and lightly jogging with Jason Bateman).

+ I picked some random guy out of hundreds to interview for a wrap-up video. He later told me that I picked him at Catalyst Dallas and asked him the exact same question. Math people – smaller odds than being struck by lightening on the day you win the lottery?

+ I heard about the greatest prank ever. Some guy told me his friends spent the first day passing out fliers for a free iPad with his phone number on it. All people had to do was text his number for a chance to win. He got 6000 texts that day.

+ We showed some videos…one of which we’ll be posting tomorrow. Hint:

+ I got to hang out with Bryan Allain, which is always a good time.

+ Tripp almost hit Jim Collins in the head with his own book. It would’ve required stitches had he connected.

+ I got to meet a lot of great people attending the conference, including many of you (readers). Thanks for saying hello.

+ I peer pressured some guy into buying my book. Might have been my only sale, I’m not sure. Quality over quantity, right?

+ I got to hang out with the guys from Mendmark. They just came out with a new shirt design, so I want to give one away (hope that’s okay guys). Just answer this question in the comments…

What is one of the items on your bucket list? If you don’t have a bucket list, just name something that would be on there.

When I was younger I would have said "sky diving". As I get older the more I think sky diving is insane and a really stupid thing to do…in other words, I'm a chicken. If I don't do it pretty soon I'm going to have to change it to something like "knit a sweater".

I got to scratch deep fried candy bar off the list at the MN state fair recently, which has now decreased my amount of time to finish my bucket list.

But…sky diving has always been near the top and one I have not done yet.

  • gretchen

sing with a band….somewhere other than a worship service

  • http://mylifesongsings.tumblr.com/ Jenny

Be on stage with Hillsong United during a concert. I mean, they wouldn't even have to let me sing! Just feeling the energy…that would be A. MAZ. ING.

My pastor was one of the 6000 people who tried to win the fake iPad. He actually got a return text telling him he'd won. He was pretty psyched until he found out that it was a hoax, at which point he became angry and vengeful. Luckily we've been studying Gracenomics this month, so our worship leader and I were able to calm him down. :)

First off I just want to say Hey Jude. I recently moved to the Albuquerque area and this past week I got to scratch flying in a hot air balloon off my list. Another item would be lunch with Andy Stanley – I'm a big fan of that guy.

I'm a follower of your blog and on Twitter. I kind of said hello. It was Thursday night, I was tired, hungry and grumpy while looking for my ride to Spiced Right BBQ. I grunted at you. Sorry I wasn't nicer. I was going to tell Tripp you're the better one, but never saw him. Hope that helps.

FANTASTIC job guys on both hosting and on all of the videos. I can tell that you put a lot of time and effort into those videos. As a first time Catalyst attender along with feeling that humor is a sorely missing thing from church on Sunday. I think it's easier to remember the points of humor better than a lot of the various messages given by the speakers, so for you and Tripp: job well done!
