Thoughts from the Atlanta Marathon

November 8th, 2011 - Uncategorized - 7 Comments »

As most of you know, Tripp and I recently ran the Atlanta Marathon – something that neither of us ever thought we’d do. Well, we shared some thoughts about the experience over at ReluctantRunners.com.

We discussed donut angels, energy gel consumption, Malcolm X, a new iPod philosophy, neck kicking, and some powerful words to live by.

Click here to check it out.

And thanks to all of you who joined the Reluctant Runner community and encouraged us throughout the process. We’re definitely going to keep the site going – now we just need a new challenge.

Any suggestions?

I'm going to propose a new challenge (without talking to Mike Stoudt who is currently on a cruise and can't defend himself). :) Mike and I versus you & Tripp at the Warrior Dash. Love the blog post at Reluctant Runners, that was funny. Haven't posted ours at IAM262.com yet, but will have it up this week.

Come down to Jacksonville, FL and do the Breast Cancer Marathon (Or 1/2) in March! Would love to meet you both and do lunch!

I'm sure you'd rather a different challenge so my suggestion is more if you want to keep running. Check out Run Water (on fb). They raise money through marathons/half-marathons to provide clean water to villages in Africa. They utilize the Rock n' Roll Marathon series which is in some great cities.

As for a new challenge, pick out a tie for each other and wear it every day for a year. :)

Congrats on running the Atlanta Marathon. That's a feat to be proud of!
