8 Reasons to Sign Up for The List

November 29th, 2011 - Uncategorized - 22 Comments »

You may have noticed a new addition to the top of my sidebar in the last day or so. Yeah, that one. That’s right – I’m starting an email list. I know, mailing lists in general are pretty terrible. But this one will be different. I promise.

Still not convinced? I wouldn’t be either. That’s why I’ve come up with a list of 8 reasons you should sign up for The List.

1. You get a FREE copy of my book
You’ll immediately be able to download a free digital copy of my book, Everyday Absurdities: Insights from the World’s Most Trivial Man, when you sign up. This offer may not last long, so if you want it, sign up soon.

2. You’ll get exclusive content
I’ll be creating unique content solely for people on The List. Articles, videos, and whatever else might be worth your time.

3. Mucho giveaways and deals
I give away stuff on the blog all the time, but the giveaways for The List will be much bigger and better (for instance, an Amazon gift card giveaway in the next few weeks). How big? Sign up and see.

4. Emails will be perfectly frequent and the perfect length
We’ve all signed up for email lists that email us too often or include too much content per email. If you’re anything like me, you delete it before even reading the first word. My hope is that these emails will be different. Perfect? Probably not. But hopefully something that makes you laugh and you look forward to seeing in your inbox.

5. You’ll get an early look at upcoming projects
Whether it’s sample chapters of the next book I’m working on or an early look at a video, this will be the place for early, behind-the-scenes content.

6. You’ll get to find out the punchline to this joke
What do you do when you see a spaceman?

7. I’ll be collaborating with some other bloggers
I’ve got some fun stuff in the works with some bloggers that you all know and love.

8. Content comes to you
Much like RSS, all of the above content arrives effortlessly in your inbox without you even having to think about it.

That’s all I got. Hopefully you’ll sign up and be a part of it. And if you try it and don’t like it, you can always unsubscribe.

So, come join The List. You can sign up in the sidebar or in the form below. Looking forward to this!

I don't like it. But I'll sign up for it.

Ah crap. I forgot I was getting your book too. Now more of my stuff will break.

I am more than excited to be on The List. I can't believe you are giving everyone who signs up a $100 Amazon gift card! When should I expect that?

  • http://www.adaupdates.blogspot.com Scott Moore

I joined because calling it "The List" sounds so prestigious.

I googled the punch line after signing up. For your sake, I will remain on the list.

    • Tyler Stanton

It's my go-to joke. It kills EVERY time.

Tripp isn't going to be one of your guest bloggers is he? That guy is over rated & he makes fun of you to much!

Very convincing post man. One list to rule them all. ;)

  • friendedbychrist

    You had me at 'FREE.'

  • Nathan

Answer to #6- You park your car in it, man.

    • Tyler Stanton

Great, now no one will sign up for the list.

Did someone say free? I am in.. Then probably out… Then probably back in again.

  • clintm

Is there a way to put the PDF of your book in my newstand app for my ipod? This will give me an alternative to playing angry birds while I'm sitting on the can.

    • Tyler Stanton

can you just put it in ibooks? i know you can get pdfs in there.

  • Kmo

"you had me at" FREE stuff. Thanks.
& FYI I look forward to your video content weekly 'cause we often "borrow" it for youth transitions. Thanks again.

Hey Tyler, I'm signing up on your comments. Should work.

I just unlinked the comments section, but I did link up all pagers. So just page your IP address to Deborah Redding (she's in the White Pages) and she'll fax it into the system. BAM!

I read reason number one and signed up. i didn't need the other seven reasons. i probably won't read the other seven either.

    • Tyler Stanton

The other seven are (hopefully) what will keep you from automatically deleting the email when it arrives in your inbox.

All I can think about is the NOC list from Mission Impossible.

How do I know you aren't a Russian Spy?

Also, my favorite part of your blog is now, and forever more, the Future Tyler picture.

The only reason I'm leaving this comment is so that I can be the TOP COMMENTER for the month of December, with two comments.
