5 Questions You’ve Never Been Asked (with Jon Acuff)

Who better to kick off the second season of 5 Questions You’ve Never Been Asked than Jon Acuff? The answer is no one. Enjoy.

So, about the book I mentioned in the video…
Jon just wrote one of the most impactful books I’ve ever read. It’s called Quitter, and it’s about closing the gap between your day job and your dream job. I actually read it after leaving my day job for my dream job, but I really wish I knew some of the stuff Jon talks about in the book before making that leap. I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re someone who would eventually want to leave what you’re doing now and pursue your dream, this is a must-read. Get it here.

Question:
If I were to do another 5Q with Jon, what never-been-asked questions should I ask him?

OK. So this interview actually took place a few months ago out in California at Catalyst West. When I finally got around to editing it, I found out Michael Jr. was coming to perform at Catalyst in Atlanta, I decided I’d just hold off until after the event…which is now. Roll it.

I’ve mentioned this before on the blog, but I’ll say it again: Michael Jr. is the real deal. He has appeared on Leno, Jimmy Kimmel, and Comedy Central, among others. He somewhat-recently produced a documentary called Comedy: The Road Less Traveled, where he goes all across the nation bringing laughter to people who literally haven’t laughed in years – prisoners, abused children, HIV sufferers, homeless, etc. Incredibly inspiring.

Today’s episode is with the one and only Susan Isaacs. I met Susan a few weeks ago at Catalyst and waited for the exact right moment to interview her. Oh, and be sure to look for the cameo of Jon Acuff’s cardboard cutout.

If you’re wondering where you’ve seen Susan before, here’s a clip of some shows she has appeared in over the years. There’s also plenty more Susan at her website, including a look at her book Angry Conversations with God.

Today’s episode is with Don Miller. Don’s book, Blue Like Jazz, literally changed my life six years ago. I showed my gratitude by giving him the most trivial interview of his life.

Don also weighed in on my book, Everyday Absurdities.
