Caspar was born in London, UK. He spent his early childhood in Nottingham. Soon, his family moved to Durban, South Africa, where Lee went to school. After a short time, he was transferred to a special school for boys. When Kaspar was 11 years old his family moved to a resort town. There he met his best, and to this day, friend, Josh Peters. Caspar has a sibling, Theodora, who is also a video blogger. Kaspar and Theodora’s parents divorced but remarried a few years later and currently live together in South Africa. At the age of 16, Kaspar decided to create a YouTube channel and his career as a video blogger began. On December 31, 2013, Caspar moved into Alfie Deiss’ apartment in London. In May 2014, Joe Sugg and Caspar moved into a two-story apartment in London. At the end of February 2016, they sold it and started living in separate apartments, which are 8 minutes away from each other.
Personal life
In 2014, Caspar started dating Gabby Jones. But their relationship didn’t last long, as Gabi went to university and Caspar immersed himself in YouTube and traveled a lot. Then they came to the conclusion that it was worth breaking off the relationship and remain good friends. In late 2014, Lee met Emma Laven. They started dating, traveling together to Uganda with Comic Relief to tour local hospitals. To improve them, Caspar raised £14,000 with the help of his audience. Soon, Emma had to go back to university and Caspar was immersed in work again. They decided to part ways and keep in touch only as friends. Dated Maddie (Madeline) Kovitz. On June 13, announced on his Twitter that they were no longer together.

Caspar’s channel was created on November 10, 2011. The first video was uploaded to the channel on January 2, 2012. “dicasp” was the exact name of Lee’s channel earlier and stands for Director Caspar. As of 2016, the channel has 6,691,891 million subscribers and 621,833,249 views. Caspar has directed videos with celebrities such as Kevin Hart, Lisa Kudrow, Asa Akira, Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Lea Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, Chris Pratt, Chloe Moretz, Cara Delevingne, Troy Sivan , Ed Sheeran, Zac Efron, and Dwayne Johnson.

In 2014, Caspar had a fleeting role in Malek 3: Learning to Fly, starring Troy Sivan. In 2015, along with Joe, he voiced the seagulls, the characters in the movie SpongeBob. In the same year, Kaspar participated in the filming of the yet-to-be-released movie “Laid in America” (Hostages in America), where he played the lead role together with KSI. Also in 2015, Caspar and Joe signed a deal with BBC and together they made a movie called “Joe & Caspar: Hit The Road”, where they traveled around Europe without phones and cameras to earn money and return home.
