    2) He's not new, but I only recently discovered Mitch Hedberg. And I like Demetri Martin, too.
    3) For documentaries, you can't beat the Ken Burns stuff. I watched his 'The Civil War' a month or so ago, and I'm watching his film 'Baseball' right now. They're long (usually 1-2 hours per episode, 6-10 episodes per film), but they're amazing. Apple named the 'Ken Burns effect' in iMovie after his technique.
